WUXI, China, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Taekwondo Championship Finals wrapped up here on Wednesday with Shandong and Jiangsu each winning three titles.
On the last day of the event, Jiangsu, Hainan, Chongqing and Shandong each claimed a gold medal across four classes.
Lv Shuwen won a breath-taking gold for Jiangsu as she trailed two points to Xu Lei of Shandong with less than seven seconds left, but landed a head kick to earn an 10-9 win in the women's +73kg category.
In another duel between the two teams, Hu Fangtao of Shandong made a turnaround over Wu Ruidong of Jiangsu 22-15 to lift the men's 58kg title.
Hainan's leading fighter Gao Pan defeated Shi Juan of Hunan 16-9 in the women's 73kg while 19-year-old Chongqing player Zhou Xiao swept Yu Junsong of Henan 34-13 in the men's 54kg.
Shandong topped the medal table with 3 golds, 5 silvers and 3 bronzes. Jiangsu came second with 3 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze, while Fujian ranked third with 2 gold and 1 bronze.
Guan Jianmin, president of the Chinese Taekwondo Association, spoke highly of this year's event. "The 2020 Chinese Taekwondo championships were divided into two stages, and each stage has two consecutive stops," said Guan.
