BERLIN -- New COVID-19 infections in Germany broke Saturday's daily record and increased by 14,964 over the past 24 hours, taking the national caseload to 464,239, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) said Wednesday.

The death toll in the country rose by 85 to 10,183, according to the RKI. (Germany-COVID-19)

HO CHI MINH CITY -- Vietnamese police have busted a drug trafficking ring stretching from Cambodia to the country's southern Ho Chi Minh City, seizing over 100 kg of drugs, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.

A total of 15 suspects of the ring were arrested with 100 kg of synthetic drugs and 32 cakes of heroin seized on Oct. 22, according to the report. (Vietnam-Drug Trafficking-Seizure)

DAR ES SALAAM -- More than 29 million Tanzanians are taking to some 80,000 polling stations across the country to cast ballots for the elections of president, members of parliament and councilors on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI -- Commercial international flights to and from India shall remain suspended until Nov. 30, the country's civil aviation watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced Wednesday.
