TOKYO, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Japanese first division league club Kashiwa Reysol manager Nelsinho has tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the second J-league club boss to get infected.
The club announced on Tuesday that the 70-year-old Nelsinho had a fever Sunday afternoon after attending the team's training session. His temperature rose to 38.4 degrees celsius on Monday and the PCR test result showed on Tuesday that he had been infected.
Reysol, who had one player test positive for the coronavirus on Monday, had already canceled their scheduled league match against Vegalta Sendai at Yurtec Stadium on Tuesday, Kyodo news agency said.
The club announced at its official website that the Brazilian will be treated at a hospital.
Nelsinho, who began his second spell in the club last year, guided the team to the League Cup final, where they will take on FC Tokyo on Saturday.
Sagan Tosu manager Kim Myung Hwi was the first J-League first division club boss to test positive. The South Korean was confirmed along with one player and a staff member in August.
Japan added a total of 864 confirmed positive cases on Tuesday, 209 of which came from Tokyo. Enditem
