African countries laud, appreciate China's donations of anti-pandemic supplies

BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- African countries recently have lauded and expressed their thanks for the Chinese government's donations of supplies to help women, children and adolescents of African countries combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
African governments and people from all walks of life said that at a time when Africa is short of anti-pandemic goods, China has overcome difficulties in international transportation and delivered anti-pandemic goods to 53 countries in Africa in time, which are timely help for African women, children and adolescents to tide over the difficulties during the pandemic.
These assistances show the true friendship and help of the Chinese people towards the African people, and are vivid illustrations of China and Africa working together to overcome the current difficulties, which the African people will keep in mind, they said.
The pandemic knows no borders, and it can only be overcome by mutual assistance and cooperation among countries, they said, noting that China has actively engaged in international cooperation against the COVID-19 pandemic, and offered assistances to various countries in the world, including African countries, which shows its noble humanitarian cares and constructive spirit of cooperation.
The important initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity against COVID-19 held in June have greatly encouraged African countries, they said.
The African side is willing to strengthen its cooperation with the Chinese side and join hands to overcome the pandemic, they said, voicing their belief that the traditional friendship between China and Africa will be sublimed further.
Recently, all of the anti-pandemic medical supplies donated by the Chinese government to women, children and adolescents of 53 African countries through the Organization of African First Ladies for Development have arrived in and been handed over to the countries smoothly.
Leaders, first ladies and senior government officials of the countries have sent messages one after another to the Chinese side, speaking highly of and expressed thanks for the Chinese aid. Enditem
