PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's Ministry of Health (MoH) announced on Thursday that more than 600 people, who came into contact with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto who recently visited Cambodia, tested negative for the COVID-19.

Szijjarto, who visited Cambodia on Tuesday, reportedly tested positive for the COVID-19 on the same day after arriving in Thailand from Cambodia on his Asian tour, the MoH said in a press statement. (Cambodia-Hungary-COVID-19)

MANILA -- The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported 1,594 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number in the country to 389,725.

The DOH said 468 more patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 349,543. The death toll climbed to 7,409 after 42 more patients died from the virus, the DOH added. (Philippines-COVID-19)

NEW DELHI -- The death toll in a devastating fire inside a cloth warehouse in India's western state of Gujarat has risen to 12, police said Thursday.

The fire broke out Wednesday at a building in Piplaj-Pirana road in Ahmedabad, about 33 km south of Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat.

"So far 12 laborers were killed in the devastating fire incident," a police official said. "The dead include five women." (India-Warehouse-Fire)

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally reached 8,364,086 on Thursday as 50,210 new cases were detected across the country in the past 24 hours, said latest data released by the federal health ministry.

TOKYO -- The Japanese government on Thursday said an outbreak of a highly pathogenic avian flu had been confirmed at a chicken farm in western Japan's Kagawa Prefecture.
