German shares with small losses at the start of trading on Friday

BERLIN, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were down slightly at the start of trading on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index falling just 36.35 points, or 0.29 percent, opening at 12,531.74 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom, increasing by 3.13 percent, insurance giant Allianz with 0.75 percent and chipmaker and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon with 0.32 percent.

T-Mobile, the U.S. subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, announced on Thursday that profits in the third quarter rose by 44 percent year-on-year to 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, while revenues increased by 74 percent to 19.3 billion dollars.

German insurer Allianz announced Friday that revenues in the third quarter fell by 6.1 percent year-on-year to 31.4 billion euros (37.2 billion dollars), while operating profit decreased "merely" 2.6 percent to 2.9 billion euros.

Shares of Delivery Hero fell by 2.48 percent. The German online food delivery company was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Friday, followed by aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines with minus 1.80 percent and software giant SAP with minus 0.98 percent.

Production in Germany's industry increased by 1.6 percent compared with the previous month but was still below pre-crisis levels, down 7.3 percent year-on-year, the Federal Statistical Office announced Friday.

After improving four months in a row, production expectations in German industry's "deteriorated somewhat" as the corresponding index declined from 20.0 points in September to 17.4 points in October, the ifo Institute announced Friday.

The yield on German ten-year bonds went down 0.006 percentage points to minus 0.639 percent, and the euro was trading at 1.1825 dollars, decreasing by 0.01 percent on Friday morning. Enditem
