JERUSALEM -- Israeli authorities on Monday announced people arriving from China will no longer be required to stay in self-quarantine.

Israel's foreign ministry and health ministry said in a joint statement that China was declared "green" as the number of COVID-19 cases in China remains low.

Israel previously allowed workers with special skills and students from China to enter the country, but required them to stay in a two-week quarantine. (Israel-China-Quarantine)

TEHRAN -- Iran announced on Monday a record of 10,463 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the country to 692,949, official news agency IRNA reported.

Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said at her daily briefing that 3,574 of the newly infected patients required hospitalization. (Iran-Coronavirus-Cases)

BAGHDAD -- Two Iraqi security members were killed on Monday and six others wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in Iraq's northern province of Kirkuk, the Iraqi military said.

A statement by the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC) said that the roadside bomb detonated near a military vehicle in a village in the north of the namesake provincial capital Kirkuk, some 250 km north of capital Baghdad. (Baghdad-Bomb-Attack)

DAMASCUS -- Syria and Russia are preparing for an international conference about the return of Syrian refugees to their country that will soon take place in the capital Damascus.

The conference, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Damascus, was first declared by the Russian Foreign Ministry last month, as it said that Russia would co-organize the conference on Syrian refugees in Damascus in November. (Syria-Russia-Refugees) Enditem
