COVID-19 infections in Argentina exceed 1.25 mln

BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Argentina reported 8,317 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the national count to 1,250,499, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

Meanwhile, 349 more deaths were reported, bringing the nationwide tally to 33,907, it added.

Currently, 4,577 patients are being hospitalized for the disease in intensive care units, while 1,073,577 people have recovered, according to the ministry.

Buenos Aires, the largest Argentine province, has so far registered 572,888 cases, the worst among all provinces.

As of Monday, the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, including the capital, went from Preventive and Obligatory Social Isolation, which has been in effect since March 20, to a new stage of Preventive and Obligatory Social Distancing that will go through this month. Enditem
