JAKARTA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesia-Latin America and the Caribbean (INA-LAC) Business Forum held on Nov. 9-11 has produced trade deals worth 71.02 million U.S. dollars in total, according to the Indonesian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
The result plus the potential business agreements worth 14.36 million U.S. dollars are two folds higher than that from the forum held last year, it said.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said the forum was part of the southeastern Asian country's economic diplomacy to diversify its export markets, particularly amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the forum's closing on Wednesday, the ministry's Director General of America and Europe, Ngurah Swajaya, expressed hope that the deals will support the efforts to enhance the inter-regional relations.
The INA-LAC 2020 was held in a hybrid manner and followed by the launch of the digital platform of the forum aiming to facilitate the interaction between the business people on the two sides.
The platform's services cover business information, Indonesia's potential export products and 108 investment projects in 10 sectors in a number of provinces in the country. Enditem
