BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

BEIJING -- One new imported asymptomatic case of COVID-19 was reported in Beijing on Friday, the municipal health commission said Saturday.

A 53-year-old man arrived in Beijing from Toronto, Canada, on Thursday. After undergoing a nucleic acid test at the customs, he was sent to a designated hotel for quarantine.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally reached 8,773,479 on Saturday as 44,684 new cases were registered across the country in the past 24 hours, said latest data released by the federal health ministry.

With 520 deaths since Friday morning, the total death toll in the country due to the pandemic reached 129,188, added the ministry's data.

SEOUL -- South Korea reported 205 more cases of the COVID-19 as of Saturday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 28,338.

The daily caseload surpassed 200 in 73 days since Sept. 2, growing in triple digits for the seventh consecutive day due to small cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province as well as imported cases.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported three new cases of COVID-19, all in managed isolation and quarantine facilities, said the Ministry of Health in a statement on Saturday.

The three new cases were recent arrivals from Romania, Australia and Britain, said the ministry.

WASHINGTON -- The United States reported an all-time high of nearly 200,000 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, setting a new record for the fifth time in a week, data updated Friday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show.

The new daily case count of 194,610 refreshed the previous nationwide record of 143,408 cases set on the previous day, pushing the seven-day average daily increase to a record high of 132,442 cases, according to the latest CDC data.

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brazil on Friday reported 456 deaths from COVID-19, raising the nationwide death toll to 164,737.

Meanwhile, the Latin American country registered 29,070 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the accumulated national caseload to 5,810,652.

BUENOS AIRES -- Argentine authorities on Friday warned that the COVID-19 pandemic was not over and urged people to follow official recommendations to mitigate the spread of the disease.

"The pandemic is not over in any country, so it is very important that we continue to comply with the recommendations," the Health Ministry's Secretary of Access to Health Carla Vizzotti said at a press conference. Enditem
