BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported no new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said Sunday.

A total of 13 imported COVID-19 cases were reported across the mainland Saturday, the commission said in its daily report.

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland reported 13 new imported COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 3,693, the National Health Commission said Sunday.

Of the new imported cases, three were reported in Guangdong and Yunnan, respectively, two in both Tianjin and Shaanxi, and one each in Shanghai, Henan and Hubei, the commission said in its daily report.

SAO PAULO -- Brazil's COVID-19 death toll reached 165,658 on Saturday after 921 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, the Latin American country registered 38,307 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national count to 5,848,959.

PARIS -- France confirmed 32,095 COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, pushing the total count to nearly 2 million, while hospitalization-related figures improved, figures released by health authorities showed on Saturday.

Since the country reported its first COVID-19 cases in mid-February, a total of 1,954,599 people have been infected, of whom 44,246 have died, up by 354 in one day.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday called for Congress to pass a "big and focused" COVID-19 relief bill as confirmed cases are surging across the country.

"Congress must now do a Covid Relief Bill. Needs Democrats support. Make it big and focused. Get it done!" Trump said on Twitter.

LONDON -- Another 26,860 people in Britain have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 1,344,356, according to official figures released Saturday.

The coronavirus-related deaths in Britain rose by 462 to 51,766, the data showed.

ADDIS ABABA -- The number of confirmed cases in the African continent has reached 1,948,833, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said on Saturday.

The continental disease control and prevention agency said in a statement that the death toll related to the pandemic stood at 46,836 as of Saturday afternoon.

CAIRO -- Iran's Health Ministry reported 11,203 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the total nationwide infections to 749,525. Meanwhile in Lebanon, restaurants, bars, cafes, gyms and malls closed their doors as the country entered its first day of a two-week lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The pandemic has so far claimed 41,034 lives in Iran, up by 452 in the past 24 hours, said Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, during her daily briefing.

OTTAWA -- Canada reported 3,041 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday noon, bringing the total up to 290,596 cases, including 10,888 deaths, according to CTV.

Ontario reported 1,581 new cases on Saturday, marking another new record in daily-reported infections in the province. It is also the ninth day in a row that Ontario has seen case counts over 1,000. Enditem
