BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia reported 1,208 new COVID-19 infections, the Health Ministry said on Sunday, bringing the national total to 47,417.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that six of the new cases are imported and 1,202 are local transmissions. The capital city of Kuala Lumpur reported the most cases in the country with 469 confirmed, of which 460 are from a cluster at a construction site.

JAKARTA -- The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 4,106 to 467,113, with the death toll adding by 63 to 15,211, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

According to the ministry, 3,897 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 391,991.

MOSCOW -- Russia registered 22,572 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, slightly down from the all-time high of 22,702 the previous day, the country's COVID-19 response center said Sunday.

The national tally of cases has grown to 1,925,825, including 33,186 deaths and 1,439,985 recoveries, the center said in a statement.

MANILA -- The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,530 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection on Sunday, bringing the number in the country to 407,838.

The DOH said 11,290 more patients recovered, raising the number of recoveries to 374,329. The death toll climbed to 7,832 after 41 more patients died from the viral disease, the DOH added.

JINAN -- East China's city of Jinan has completed nucleic acid tests for 7,517 people, all testing negative for COVID-19, after imported frozen food and packaging in the cold storage of a logistics park in the city tested positive for the virus, according to the municipal health commission on Sunday.

Batches of frozen beef products imported from Brazil, New Zealand and Bolivia entered China through customs in Shanghai. A total of 3,535 items tested positive for coronavirus. Among them, 1,149 had been distributed and 2,386 were in storage. The inventory has since been sealed.

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico reported 5,860 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the national count to 1,003,253, the health ministry said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 635 more deaths were reported, bringing the death toll to 98,259 in Mexico, which ranks fourth worldwide, following the United States, Brazil and India.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally reached 8,814,579 on Sunday as 41,100 new cases were registered across the country in the past 24 hours, said the latest data released by the federal health ministry.

With 447 deaths since Saturday morning, the total death toll in the country due to the pandemic reached 129,635, added the ministry's data. Enditem
