TEHRAN -- Iran reported on Sunday 12,543 new cases of COVID-19, its highest daily figure so far, taking the total infections in the country to 762,068.

And 2,544 of the new infected had to be hospitalized, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Sima Sadat Lari said at her daily briefing. (Iran-Coronavirus)

ADDIS ABABA -- The governmental Ethiopia Human Rights Commission (EHRC) said on Sunday up to 34 people are believed to have been killed in a recent armed attack.

ULAN BATOR -- The Mongolian government on Sunday extended a nationwide lockdown to contain the coronavirus pandemic by two weeks until Dec. 1.
