Indonesia records 3.61 bln USD trade surplus in October

JAKARTA, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded a 3.61-billion-U.S. dollar trade balance surplus in October 2020, Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced on Monday.

According to the agency, the amount is higher than 2.44 billion dollars recorded in September 2020.

The country recorded a total of 14.39-billion-dollar exports in October, a 3.09 percent increase month-to-month, while the total imports fell by 3.29 percent to 10.78 billion dollars.

October's export performance was contributed by non-oil and non-gas exports valued at 13.76 billion dollars, an increase by 3.54 percent.

Meanwhile, oil and gas exports were valued at 630 million dollars, down by 5.94 percent from the figures in the previous month.

The increase in non-oil and non-gas exports was supported by agriculture and industry exports whose value rose by 1.26 percent to 420 million dollars, the manufacturing industry exports that increased by 2.08 percent to 11.79 billion dollars, and the mining industry exports which grew by 16.98 percent to 1.55 billion dollars.
