NEW YORK, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices ended mixed on Tuesday as traders awaited weekly U.S. crude stockpiles data.

The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for December delivery gained 9 cents to settle at 41.43 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for January delivery decreased 7 cents to close at 43.75 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is scheduled to release the nation's weekly crude stockpiles data on Wednesday.

Analysts estimated crude inventories likely rose 1.7 million barrels during the week ending Nov. 13 after gaining 4.3 million barrels in the prior week, according to a Reuters poll.

On Monday, oil prices climbed noticeably with the WTI and Brent up 3 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively, supported by encouraging news on a coronavirus vaccine candidate. Enditem
