U.S. crude oil inventories up last week: API

HOUSTON, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- The American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday reported an increase of 4.174 million barrels of crude oil in the U.S. crude oil inventories for the week ending Nov. 13.

API reported a decrease of 0.9 million barrels of crude oil inventories for the previous week ending Nov. 6 while the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a fall of 4.3 million barrels.

Oil prices ended mixed on Tuesday. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for December delivery gained 9 cents to settle at 41.43 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for January delivery decreased 7 cents to close at 43.75 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
