MOGADISHU, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- At least one soldier was killed and three civilians were injured on Thursday when in a huge blast in Lafole neighborhood on the outskirts of Somali capital Mogadishu, police and witnesses said on Thursday.
Police officer who requested anonymity told Xinhua that a roadside bomb hit government forces in Lafole, causing casualties.
"I can confirm that one soldier was killed and three civilians sustained injuries in the blast," he said.
"As we were in the village, we heard the sound of an explosion and we later discovered that it caused casualties, security forces came to the scene and blocked the road for a while, by now the situation returned to normal," Hassan Salah, a witness told Xinhua.
Al-Qaida allied group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the latest attack. Enditem
