KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese government on Thursday decided to postpone the opening of schools for two weeks to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

CAIRO -- Egypt looks forward to taking part in the next round of trilateral talks with Ethiopia and Sudan on an Ethiopian dam built on their shared Nile River, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

CAIRO -- Egyptian and Russian naval forces started on Thursday their joint military exercise dubbed "Friendship Bridge - 3" in the Russian territorial waters in the Black Sea and it will continue for several days, said the Egyptian army.

The joint drills kicked off after the Egyptian vessels and units arrived at Russia's Novorossiysk seaport a couple of days following their departure from a naval base in Egypt's Alexandria, Egyptian military spokesman Tamer al-Refai in a statement. (Egypt-Russia-Naval Drills)

RAMALLAH -- Palestinian Authority (PA) and Israeli officials held the first bilateral meeting on Thursday after the PA said on Tuesday it resumed its relationship with Israel after a six-month boycott over Israel's plan to annex parts of the West Bank.
