Live COVID-19 updates: Belarus reports 1,457 new COVID-19 cases, total reaches 120,847

BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

MINSK -- Belarus reported 1,457 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking its total to 120,847, according to the country's health ministry.

There have been 1,165 new recoveries in the past 24 hours, bringing its total to 100,749, the ministry said.

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Health Ministry on Friday called on the citizens to abide by health-protective measures against COVID-19, such as wearing masks, sanitizing hands and maintaining social distancing.

The ministry warned against ignoring the measures, saying that many of the new infections were for people who had already recovered from the disease.

YANGON -- The number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 76,414, with 1,532 new cases in Myanmar on Friday, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.

Nineteen more deaths were also reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 1,695, the release said.

Meanwhile, 56,601 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals as of Friday.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported four new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 58,143.

All Of the new cases are imported cases.

On Friday, six more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,058 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, the ministry said. Enditem
