MADRID, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid moved nine points clear of FC Barcelona after Yannick Carrasco's goal on the stroke of halftime gave them a 1-0 win over Ronald Koeman's side on Saturday night.

Carrasco collected a long clearance and slipped past Marc Andre Ter Stegen, who had raced out of his area, before stroking the ball home.

Barca rarely threatened Atletico and lost Gerard Pique to a nasty looking knee injury, while Sergi Roberto suffered a muscle injury on a miserable night in which neither Leo Messi nor Antoine Griezmann were anywhere near their best.

Gerard Moreno's 75th minute penalty cancelled out Mariano Diaz's second minute opening goal for Real Madrid to give Villarreal a point in their game at the El Madrigal Stadium.

Mariano made his first start in over 560 days due to Madrid's long injury list but showed his worth with a good finish from Dani Carvajal's cross.

It wasn't a good game with neither side anywhere near their best, but Villarreal took a point from the penalty sport after Thibaut Courtois brought down Samuel Chukwueze when he was though on goal.

New Celta coach Eduardo Coudet got a view of his side's defensive failings as they conceded two late goals in their 4-2 defeat away to Sevilla.

Jules Kounde put Sevilla in front after just four minutes after Ruben Garcia parried out a header following a corner, but Iago Aspas leveled for Celta just five minutes later after a bad mistake from Sevilla keeper Tomas Vaclik.

Nolito then put Celta in front 10 minutes before halftime, but Youssef En Neysri's powerful header made it 2-2 on the verge of halftime.

It looked as if Celta could hold on for a valuable point, but a deflected long range effort from Sergio Escudero put Sevilla in front with six minutes left to play and Munir El Haddadi sealed the win two minutes later after a counter-attack.

Levante is struggling for form after a 1-1 draw at home to Elche. Tete Moriente's 64th minute equalizer for Elche canceled out Gonzalo Melero's 12th minute opening for the home side.

The round of games kicked off on Friday night with Osasuna drawing 1-1 at home to Huesca with goals from David Garcia and Sandro Ramirez. Enditem
