BERLIN -- Germany "deeply regrets" U.S. quitting from the Opens Skies Treaty, a major international arms control agreement, and remains committed to the treaty as a key part of regional arms control measures, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Sunday.

"We deeply regret that the U.S. decided to take this step and is now doing it. Our stance on the treaty has not changed: we see it as an important part of the arms control architecture," Maas said in a statement. (Germany-U.S.-Withdrawal)

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistani army has said that at least eleven civilians, including six women and four children, were injured in firings along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region.

WASHINGTON -- International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on Sunday urged the Group of 20 (G20) leaders to maintain policy support and reinforce the economic bridge to recovery as the global economy is "not out of the woods."

"I commended the G20 countries as a whole for taking unprecedented actions to mitigate the impact of COVID19 --including fiscal and monetary measures -- that have helped to prevent massive bankruptcies and an even deeper crisis," Georgieva said in a statement following a virtual meeting of G20 Leaders' Summit hosted by Saudi Arabia. ABUJA -- Nigerian police on Sunday confirmed that five worshippers were killed and 18 others abducted when gunmen attacked a congregational mosque in the country's northwestern state of Zamfara.

The incident occurred on Friday in the Dutsen Gari community of Maru local government area in Zamfara, police spokesman Muhammad Shehu told Xinhua. (Nigeria-Mosque-Attack) Enditem
