LONDON, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.28 percent, or 17.61 points, to close at 6,333.84 points.
Rolls-Royce Holdings, a UK-based engineering company, soared 7.60 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSB) increased by 5.48 percent and 4.68 percent, respectively.
Polymetal International, a precious metal mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.20 percent. Halma, a group of technology companies that makes products for hazard detection and life protection, dropped 4.41 percent.
