Belarus to promote linking of Belt and Road Initiative with EAEU

MINSK, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said his country will promote the linking of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative with the integration process of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The Belt and Road Initiative is a project that gives concrete results, Lukashenko said on Tuesday when accepting the credentials from China's new ambassador to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong.

Belarus will do its best to promote the Belt and Road Initiative and will contribute to its docking with the EAEU, Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko also said the nature of Belarus-China relations is a comprehensive strategic partnership of mutual trust and win-win cooperation.

Xie praised the China-Belarus cooperation on all fronts, including the importance of mutual support between China and Belarus during the difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The China-Belarus comprehensive strategic partnership has kept developing steadily since the two countries established diplomatic relations 28 years ago, the ambassador said. Enditem
