BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

BOGOTA -- Colombia on Wednesday announced an extension of its health state of emergency for three months, until the end of February 2021, in a continued fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to media.
"The sanitary emergency will extend until February 28, 2021," Colombian President Ivan Duque was quoted by media as saying on his nightly television program, urging viewers to avoid crowds and use safety measures to avoid a possible second outbreak. The country has had more than 1.27 million confirmed cases and nearly 36,000 deaths.

ROME -- Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome will start the operation of "COVID-tested" flights from three U.S. airports on a trial basis, Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), the airport's operator said Thursday.
Starting in December, passengers on COVID-tested flights coming from New York, Newark or Atlanta airports will not have to quarantine, if they test negative for COVID-19 within 48 hours of departure and upon arrival at the airport, according to an ADR statement.

SUVA -- Samoa reported on Friday one more COVID-19 case, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to two in the island nation.
According to Samoa Observer, Samoa's Director General of Health Leausa Take Naseri said on Friday that a 70-year-old Samoan man has tested positive for COVID-19 while in quarantine after arriving in Samoa on a repatriation flight from Auckland and Melbourne two weeks ago.

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's Health Ministry reported on Thursday 8,107 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the national count to 1,078,594.
The ministry said that 645 more deaths were reported, raising the nationwide tally to 104,242.

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland on Thursday reported no new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, with five newly confirmed cases all arriving from outside, the National Health Commission said Friday.
Three new imported cases were reported in Shanghai, and one each in Fujian and Shaanxi Thursday, the commission said in its daily report.
No new suspected cases or new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported. Enditem
