TASHKENT, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan has allowed computer game clubs to resume operation from Dec. 1 to help the development of electronic sports in the country, Uzbek Health Ministry said Saturday.

Computer gaming clubs that have remained closed since March when Uzbekistan first imposed a lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, should comply with the requirements of the Special Republican Commission to Combat Coronavirus, it said.

Uzbekistan, which has imposed two nationwide lockdowns so far, has no intention to impose another, Uzbek authorities said.

Earlier this week the Uzbek Finance Ministry said the spending of the anti-crisis fund has amounted to 1.28 billion U.S. dollars as measures to combat the pandemic last longer than initially planned and require additional costs.

So far, Uzbekistan has registered 72,409 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 607 deaths and 69,670 recoveries. Enditem
