China's police chief talks over phone with Egyptian interior minister

BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Egyptian Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik.

Zhao said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, China-Egypt relations and practical cooperation in all fields have witnessed leapfrog development.

The fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has outlined a grand blueprint for China's future development, and will also provide more opportunities for China-Egypt cooperation, he said.

Zhao expressed his hope that the two sides will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintain strategic communication, deepen counter-terrorism cooperation, strengthen security cooperation on building the Belt and Road, and push forward China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
