TEHRAN -- Iran announced on Tuesday 13,881 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours, raising to 975,951 the total number of infections registered in the country.

A total of 2,237 of the newly infected had to be hospitalized, Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said at her daily briefing. (Iran-COVID-19)

ADEN, Yemen -- The United Nations declared on Tuesday that six years of Yemen's conflict caused an estimated 233,000 deaths in the impoverished Arab country.

In a report, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said "the war had already caused an estimated 233,000 deaths, including 131,000 from indirect causes such as lack of food, health services, and infrastructure." (Yemen-War-Deaths)

DOHA -- Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA) has signed an agreement with China's Yutong, one of the world's leading bus makers, to manufacture electric buses.

According to the deal, the first e-buses will be produced for the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022. Yutong will provide Qatar with 1,002 vehicles for the tournament, including 741 electric vehicles. (Qatar-China-Bus)

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir denied on Tuesday any role of his country in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

He responded through his Twitter account to the allegation by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claiming that the murder of the scientist was a Saudi Arabia-U.S.-Israel plot. (Saudi Arabia-Iran-Scientist Murder) Enditem
