TOKYO, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday on hopes that a pathway to normalized economic activity could be established after Britain approved Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine the previous day.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average increased 16.35 points, or 0.06 percent, from Wednesday to 26,817.33.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, rose 3.80 points, or 0.21 percent, at 1,777.77.
Marine transportation, land transportation and nonferrous metal issues comprised those gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
