CAIRO, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and visiting Greek Minister of National Defense Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos discussed here on Thursday means of promoting bilateral cooperation and combating terrorism, the presidency office said in a statement.

"Egypt is looking forward to developing military cooperation and joint training between the two countries," the spokesperson of the presidency Bassam Rady said.

The Egyptian president hailed the ongoing cooperation between the two countries either at the bilateral level or tripartite level among Egypt, Greece and Cyprus, Rady said.

"The tripartite cooperation was recently represented in the joint military training, which is currently being implemented with the participation of forces from France and the United Arab Emirates," he added.

Panagiotopoulos said that the two countries' relationship is driven by common interests, mutual respect and the desire to achieve regional security and stability.

He also voiced Greece's keenness to strengthen the existing partnership between the two countries in the military, security, and information exchange fields. Enditem
