LOS ANGELES -- The vast region of the U.S. California state will enter a new stay-at-home order on Sunday night, as its many parts have hit the 15 percent or lower threshold for intensive care unit (ICU) capacity amid COVID-19 surge, local health authorities said Saturday.

Based on the latest ICU data, the 11-county Southern California region which includes Los Angeles County, and San Joaquin Valley region in Central California, have dropped below 15 percent ICU capacity, said the California Department of Public Health in a statement. (U.S.-California-Coronavirus)

TRIPOLI -- The Foreign Ministry of Libya's UN-backed government on Saturday hailed Kuwait for its role in solving the Gulf crisis.

MEXICO CITY -- A federal judge sentenced two men to nine and 12 years in prison, respectively, for transporting 118 undocumented Central American migrants via cargo truck through southeastern Mexico, the Attorney General's Office of the Republic said on Saturday.

According to the Mexican prosecutor's office, the judge, based in the state of Chiapas, ruled that the two individuals were guilty of the crime of transporting foreigners in order to evade immigration procedures and obtain profits. (Mexico-Central American Migrants)
