KUWAIT CITY -- The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated on Sunday winners in parliamentary elections, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said.

In a cable sent to winners in National Assembly (parliament) elections, the emir expressed content for the trust they were bestowed with by citizens, wishing them would succeed in serving their constituents and their homeland and in contributing to the development of the homeland and its prosperity. BAGHDAD -- U.S.-led coalition aircraft carried out airstrikes on hideouts of the extremist Islamic State (IS) militant group in Salahudin province in the north of Baghdad, leaving five IS militants killed, the Iraqi military said on Sunday.

Based on a request by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC), the international aircraft bombarded an orchard near the town of Yathrib, some 80 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, destroying the hideouts and killing the five militants, the JOC media office said in a statement. TEHRAN -- Satellite-guided equipment has been used in the assassination of Iran's top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday.

"Advanced electronic instruments guided by satellite were used in the assassination of Martyr Fakhrizadeh," the IRGC spokesman, Ramezan Sharif, was quoted as saying by Press TV. (Iran-Satellite-Scientist-Assassination)

ADEN, Yemen -- Yemeni government forces announced on Sunday killing nearly 13 members of the Houthi rebel group in the country's northern province of Saada, the militia's main bastion.

According to the state-run Saba News Agency, "nearly 13 elements of the Iran-backed Houthi militia were killed and several others wounded by the government's National Army forces in Saada's district of Baqim." (Yemen-Houthi-Killing) Enditem
