BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

COPENHAGEN -- Denmark's Minister for Health and Elderly Affairs Magnus Heunicke announced on Thursday an extension of the country's partial lockdown measures to include a further 31 municipalities as of 4 p.m. local time on Friday.
At a press conference, he also reported a new daily record of 3,132 coronavirus cases, which was a major spike after Wednesday's record of 2,558 daily cases.

YANGON -- Myanmar reported 1,321 more confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing its total tally to 104,487.
The Ministry of Health and Sports said in a release that 27 more COVID-19 deaths were newly recorded, bringing the death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic to 2,201.

PANAMA CITY -- Panama confirmed 1,811 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the nationwide tally to 182,977, the Ministry of Health reported.
The country also reported 23 new deaths from the virus, taking its total death toll to 3,264, said the ministry.

TASHKENT -- Uzbekistan has started a phase-3 trial of a coronavirus vaccine developed by Chinese company Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical, the Uzbek Ministry of Innovative Development said Thursday.
The launching ceremony was attended by Uzbek officials, Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jiang Yan, Chairman and General Director of Chongqing Zhifei Biological Company Jiang Rensheng, and researchers from the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it said. Enditem
