ULAN BATOR, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia reported 57 more COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours after 4,134 tests had been conducted across the country, the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said on Wednesday.
Fifty-five of the new cases were locally transmitted or patients being hospitalized at the capital city Ulan Bator's Bayanzurkh District General Hospital, their family members and health workers of the hospital, Amarjargal Ambaselmaa, head of the NCCD's Surveillance Department, said at a press conference.
One of the remaining two cases is a doctor of the Central Military Hospital in Ulan Bator, and another one was reported in the province of Selenge in northern Mongolia, said Ambaselmaa.
The country now has 1,063 confirmed cases, including more than 620 locally transmitted ones, according to the center.
A total of 541 patients have recovered so far with no deaths reported. Enditem
