BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

MANILA -- The Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines on Wednesday reported 1,196 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number in the country to 464,004.
The DOH said 564 more patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 429,972. The death toll climbed to 9,048 after 27 more patients died from the viral disease, the DOH added.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 10,099,066 on Wednesday as 23,950 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the health ministry.
According to the data, the death toll mounted to 146,444 as 333 COVID-19 patients died since Tuesday morning.

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyzstan reported on Wednesday 230 new COVID-19 cases, raising the tally of infections in the country to 79,659.
The Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 said that the total number of people having recovered from the virus reached 73,561 after 261 new recoveries were recorded over the past day.

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia reported 57 more COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours after 4,134 tests had been conducted across the country, the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said on Wednesday.
Fifty-five of the new cases were locally transmitted or patients being hospitalized at the capital city Ulan Bator's Bayanzurkh District General Hospital, their family members and health workers of the hospital, Amarjargal Ambaselmaa, head of the NCCD's Surveillance Department, said at a press conference.

DUBLIN -- Ireland on Tuesday reported 970 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 81,228, the country's National Public Health Emergency Team said in a statement.
Meanwhile, 13 additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded, taking the country's death toll to 2,171, said the statement.

SHENYANG -- Northeast China's Liaoning Province on Tuesday reported one confirmed COVID-19 case and eight asymptomatic infections, local authorities said Wednesday.
