BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

KIGALI -- The Rwandan Ministry of Health on Thursday inaugurated a COVID-19 testing laboratory at Kigali International Airport, the country's major airport in capital city Kigali, to ease service delivery for travellers to Rwanda.

"Unlike previously when samples for incoming travellers were taken at designated hotels, all passengers will be tested at the airport and get their results within 24 hours," Health Minister Daniel Ngamije told journalists at the launch event.

URUMQI -- No new confirmed COVID-19 cases or asymptomatic cases were reported in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Thursday, the regional health commission said Friday.

On Thursday, two of the four asymptomatic cases reported on Dec. 12 were released from medical observation in the Gaochang District of Turpan City, according to the commission.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 10,146,845 on Friday as 23,067 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the federal health ministry.

According to the data, the death toll mounted to 147,092 as 336 patients died since Thursday morning.

JAKARTA -- As many as 39 more doctors in Indonesia have died of COVID-19 from December 1 to 24, 2020, bringing the total death toll of doctors to 224, said the Indonesian Medical Association on Saturday.

Of the 224 doctors, 123 were general practitioners, 98 specialists, and three residents.

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia reported six new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the national count to 1,075, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Friday.

The latest new cases were locally transmitted and reported in Ulan Bator, the capital of the country, the NCCD said in a statement. Enditem
