KATHMANDU -- Risk of spread of COVID-19 has increased along with the protests being organized amid political turmoil in Nepal following the House of Representatives, the lower house of parliament, was dissolved last week, health experts here said.

Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the lower house of parliament on Dec. 20, and announced the date of new parliamentary elections for April 30 and May 10 as per the recommendation of the cabinet amid the political infighting within the ruling Nepal Communist Party. ISLAMABAD -- A helicopter of Pakistani army crashed in the country's north Gilgit Baltistan region, leaving four, including two pilots and two soldiers, killed, an army statement said early Sunday.

The helicopter of army aviation crashed on Saturday due to technical reasons when it was evacuating body of a soldier killed earlier to a military hospital in the GB region, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said in the statement. (Pakistan-Helicopter Crash)

RIO DE JANEIRO -- The Brazilian government on Saturday reported 307 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's death toll to 190,795.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 10,187,850 on Sunday as 18,732 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the federal health ministry.
