BERLIN, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were off to a good start on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index rising by 191.82 points, or 1.41 percent, opening at 13,779.05 points, and even set a new all-time high at 13,815 points within the first hour of trading.
The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was carmaker BMW, increasing by 2.48 percent, followed by Deutsche Bank and Germany's largest carmaker Volkswagen, both growing by 2.39 percent.
Shares of Covestro grew by 0.32 percent, making the German plastic producer the least increasing company at the start of trading on Monday.
Prices of residential property in Germany in the third quarter (Q3) of 2020 increased by 2.9 percent over the previous quarter and were up 7.8 percent year-on-year, the country's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) announced on Monday.
The yield on German 10-year bonds remained unchanged at minus 0.547 percent, and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.2188 U.S. dollars, decreasing by 0.025 percent on Monday. Enditem
