BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Colombian forward Sebastian Villa scored late to earn Boca Juniors a 2-2 home draw with rivals River Plate in the Argentine Primera Division on Saturday.
Ramon Abila put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute with a close-range strike after a superb 30-yard diagonal pass from Emanuel Mas.
Boca was reduced to 10 men in the 58th minute when Jorman Campuzano was shown a second yellow card for a bad foul.
River wasted no time to capitalize on their numerical advantage. Federico Girotti equalized with a 74th-minute header and Rafael Borre then put the visitors ahead by nodding home after a Nacho Fernandez cross.
But the match took another turn three minutes later when Enzo Perez was also shown a second yellow card for a studs-up challenge.
Villa put Boca on level terms four minutes later when he combined with Carlos Tevez before deftly chipping a shot over goalkeeper Franco Armani.
The result at La Bombonera means Boca remains top of the championship phase Group A standings with two wins and two draws, ahead of River on goal difference.
In Saturday's only other match, Rosario Central cruised to a 3-0 home win over Defensa y Justicia. Enditem
