TEHRAN, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said Thursday that Iran's income from crude exports was less than 20 billion U.S. dollars in 2020, Press TV reported.

The country's crude exports and shipment was affected by the U.S. sanctions during the past year, Abdolnasser Hemmati was quoted as saying.

Iran had restricted access to its funds abroad from crude exports during the time, he said, adding that despite all the restrictions, Iran's economy did not face serious challenge.

He expressed the hope that Iran's currency would gain value in the upcoming months though more oil exports and ease of U.S. sanctions. Enditem
