PHNOM PENH, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian anti-drug police have arrested a group of three men for allegedly trafficking more than 2 kilograms of illicit drugs, the National Police reported on Saturday.

The trio, aged 29, 31 and 36, were arrested during raids earlier this week in capital Phnom Penh and Northwestern Banteay Meanchey province, the police said.

"During the raids, the police had seized a total of 2.1 kilograms of drugs including crystal methamphetamine, ketamine, ecstasy, and nimetazepam," the National Police said on its website.

Cambodia has no death sentence for drug traffickers. Under its law, someone found guilty of trafficking more than 80 grams of drugs could be jailed for life.

According to the Anti-Drug Police Department, the Southeast Asian nation nabbed 20,913 drug-related suspects last year, confiscating 3.25 tons of illicit drugs. Enditem
