VIENNA, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Max Parrot and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott won the men's and women's titles respectively at the first FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup of the season in Kreischberg, Austria on Saturday.
Canada's Parrot scored 84.8 points on his final run to take the season-opening win with a combined score of 165.00.
"I'm definitely really happy that we've been able to start the season and I'm definitely happy to start the season with this win. It's just really nice to be out here and see all the boys again after 10 months," said Parrot, who claimed a silver medal in the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics.
Sweden's Sven Thorgren finished second with a total of 164.00 points while Norway's Mons Roisland was third.
In the women's event, Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand topped the podium after recording a score of 162.40 points despite crashing in her first run.
"I've never won a World Cup in big air, and this is my first FIS competition in a while, so it means a lot to be back and be competing and win with such a big field again," the 19-year-old said.
The silver medal went to Kokomo Murase of Japan, followed by Austria's Anna Gasser. Enditem
