RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Leaders Sao Paulo crashed to their second straight defeat on Sunday with a 1-0 loss at home to Santos, a result that leaves the Brazilian Serie A title race wide open.
Midfielder Jobson struck the winner - just his second goal of the campaign - with a low finish from the edge of the six-yard box.
Sao Paulo has now lost three of their past five matches but still hold a three-point lead at the top of the 20-team standings.
Last season's runner-up Santos moved to eighth, 14 points off the pace.
Reigning champions Flamengo also extended their poor run of form with a 2-0 home defeat to Ceara. Vinicius Souza and Kelvyn Fonseca were on target for the visitors as Ceara climbed to ninth.
Flamengo - who have picked up just one point from their past three matches - remained fourth, seven points behind Sao Paulo but with a game in hand.
In Porto Alegre, Bruno Praxedes scored a first-half winner as Internacional moved to second with a 1-0 win over Goias.
And a late Gabriel Novaes strike earned Bahia a 1-1 draw at Atletico Goianiense following Matheus Pereira's seventh-minute opener. Enditem
