JERUSALEM, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems said Monday that it will provide new training technologies to the British navy in a 166-million-dollar deal.

This is included in a 12-year agreement between the Israeli company and the British Ministry of Defence, after Elbit was selected for the Royal Navy Future Naval Training Program.

As part of the contract, Elbit's subsidiary in Britain will develop and deliver a new trainer for combat system operators, and modernize and manage legacy synthetic training systems across the Royal Navy.

"The new training technologies will improve the British Defence Operational Training Capability (Maritime) program, while facilitating availability and efficiency of legacy capabilities", Elbit said. Enditem
