SINGAPORE, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.23 percent, or 6.73 points, to close at 2,977.17.
A total of 2.10 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.44 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.08 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 274 to 210.
The STI index went down 0.31 percent, or 9.29 points, to close at 2,983.90 Monday. Enditem
