German shares close flat Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 11.60 points, or 0.08 percent, to close at 13,925.06 points.

Energy group RWE lost 2.85 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by housing association Deutsche Wohnen and energy group E.ON, which lost 2.36 percent and 2.33 percent respectively.

Automotive supplier Continental gained 3.22 percent, becoming the top gainer. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and material manufacturer Covestro advanced 3.19 percent and 2.46 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 249.28 million euros (303.15 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 1.64 percent to close at 1.854 euros per share on Tuesday. Enditem
