Georgia's foreign trade down 14.8 pct in 2020

TBILISI, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to 11.34 billion U.S. dollars in 2020, down 14.8 percent year on year, the country's state statistics office said on Thursday.

Last year, the total value of exports decreased by 12 percent to 3.34 billion dollars while the imports value stood at 8 billion dollars, a drop of 15.9 percent, according to the report from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

During the period, Turkey, Azerbaijan and China were the three largest foreign trade partners for Georgia, said the Office.

The country's trade deficit amounted to 4.66 billion dollars, accounting for 41.1 percent of the total foreign trade turnover in 2020, said the office. Enditem
