SINGAPORE, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.16 percent, or 4.87 points, to close at 3004.87.
A total of 4.20 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.54 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.16 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 289 to 202.
The STI index went up 0.76 percent, or 22.49 points, to close at 3000 Thursday. Enditem
