Georgia reports 1,236 new COVID-19 cases

TBILISI, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Georgia reported 1,236 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing its total to 247,025, said the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

Among the new cases, 485 were confirmed in the capital city of Tbilisi, the center said.

As of Saturday, a total of 231,385 patients have recovered while 2,916 others have died, it said.

Georgia reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case on Feb. 26, 2020. Enditem
