ATHENS -- Greek Coast Guard vessels retrieved the body of a man and located 24 refugees and migrants in a rocky site on Lesvos island, while three people have been reported missing, daily newspaper Kathimerini and other local media reported on Tuesday.

Survivors said that they were all on a dinghy trying to reach Greece from Turkey, while winds of 5 on the Beaufort scale were blowing in the area, according to Coast Guard sources.

ISTANBUL -- Turkey started vaccinating citizens residing or working in nursing homes against COVID-19 on Tuesday, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced.

Speaking at a meeting with the provincial health directors on Monday, Koca said the vaccinations would also cover people in disabled care centers and care homes, as well as citizens aged 90 and above. (Turkey-Vaccination)

TOKYO -- At least one person died and 10 others were injured in a multiple-vehicle accident on a snowy expressway in northeastern Japan on Tuesday, as heavy snowfall blanketed wide areas of the country.
