Water canal built in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has completed the construction of a water canal in the eastern Nangarhar province, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The 350-meter canal was constructed at a cost of 4.9 million afghani (62,669.56 U.S. dollars) financed by the ministry, the statement said, adding it took 2,348 days to build the canal which benefits 2,800 people, besides irrigating hundreds of hectares of lands in Kama district.

Similarly, with the financial support of the ministry, two bridges have also been built in Farkhar district of the northern Takhar province that connects several villages to health facilities in the district center. Enditem
